Pickaway County Development Highlights from 2019-2023

  • DuPont Kapton and Vespel – $350 million capital investment with two new unit expansion and adding 60 new full-time jobs.
  • Sofidel Phase II expansion - $185 million capital investment adding 100 new full-time jobs.
  • CT Realty - A Texas based company developed nearly 400 acres investing $250 million capital creating 5.5 million square foot of warehouses adding over 1000 new full-time jobs.
  • NorthPoint - $100 million investment in three spec buildings totaling approximately 2 million square feet in the northern Pickaway County Rickenbacker Intermodal area.
  • VanTrust - $150 million capital investment with a 2.3 million square foot expansion in Commercial Point adding 500 new full-time jobs within the two warehouses leased by Bath & Body works and Hanes.
  • Prologis – continued investment in infrastructure in and around Rickenbacker Intermodal area with the most recent addition of two Fortune 100 tenants adding over 300 new full-time jobs.
  • Forjak - An industrial coating and blasting plant expanded operations in Circleville and is anticipated to employ more than 100 people.
  • Hampton Inn - 4 story, 87 room hotel investing about $12 million added 21 employees.


Community Development/Infrastructure Projects from 2011- 2023

  • Creation of Pickaway County Port Authority to serve as a new development tool and model to assist in our development strategy.
  • Established Joint Economic Development Districts in Pickaway, Madison, and Harrison Township to capture municipal income taxes for significant infrastructure improvements.
  • US23/SR 762 Infrastructure – received $8 million grant for interchange engineering plus an additional $5 million appropriation for planning.
  • Intermodal Bridge – Secured $5 million appropriate for planning and design of bridge connection Pickaway County industrial area to Rickenbacker Parkway.
  • 22/23 Gateway – Multiple years of engaging, planning, reminding ultimately secured funding to improve pavement and appearance of this entrance to Circleville.
  • Pickaway Progress Park Jobs Ready Site - $6.5 million investment in roadwork and utility infrastructure along with environmental remediation provides Circleville with a 224-acre certified industrial park.
  • Rickenbacker East/West Connector - $32 million dollar roadwork and rail grade separation project completed in 2014. This project has unlocked the potential of the Rickenbacker Intermodal area of northern Pickaway County resulting in 4 new major logistics projects in the last 18 months.
  • Roundtown Trail - $600,000 paved multi-use recreational trail connects Ohio Christian University with the new Circleville City Schools campus and the Pickaway County YMCA.
  • Ohio Christian University Innovation Center - 24,000 square foot, $5 million facility on the campus of Ohio Christian University. The Innovation Center provides comprehensive programming and support for entrepreneurs and aspiring small business owners in south central and southeast Ohio.
  • Court Street Connector - $2.5 million roadwork project provides new connectivity between Circleville and the west-side retail shopping area along US 23.
  • Sofidel Gas Pipeline - $20+ million, 12-inch diameter, 500 PSI natural gas pipeline completed in 2017 brings needed service to the new Sofidel site. The new pipeline provides abundant excess capacity for further energy intensive projects.
