Pickaway Progress Partnership to Host May Speaker Series at Circleville Rotary Focused on Growth, Agriculture and Community Input

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – Pickaway Progress Partnership, in collaboration with the Circleville Rotary Club, will host a series of presentations throughout May focused on the future of Pickaway County, including growth, agriculture and emerging economic trends.

The series will feature four weekly presentations during the Rotary Club’s regular Thursday luncheon meetings, offering community leaders and stakeholders an opportunity to hear directly from regional experts and engage in discussion about the county’s future.

On May 7, P3 Executive Director Brian Hill will kick off the series with an overview of how the community is working together to manage growth in ways that are broadly beneficial—balancing economic development, infrastructure needs and the preservation of Pickaway County’s agricultural heritage.

On May 14, Hill will be joined by Jamie Greene of planning NEXT, who will provide an update on the work of the Agricultural Committee and the ongoing countywide agricultural study, as well as progress on the recently announced Land Use Planning Grant initiative.
On May 21, Matt McCollister of the Montrose Group will present on data centers and their potential implications for communities in the region, including considerations related to infrastructure, land use and long-term planning.

Additional programming is planned as part of the four-part May series.

“This is about making sure the future of Pickaway County is shaped by the people who live and work here,” said Brian Hill, Executive Director of P3. “We’re creating opportunities for open, informed conversations so the community can engage with the issues and help guide decisions about growth and development.”

The speaker series builds on momentum from the recent announcement that Pickaway County was awarded a $50,000 Land Use Planning Grant from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The grant is funding the development of the county’s first-ever comprehensive Land Use Plan, designed to serve as a long-term roadmap for growth, development and conservation.

This is in addition to the countywide Agricultural Study and is intended to bring residents, farmers, local governments and stakeholders together to proactively shape Pickaway County’s future—managing responsible growth, preserving prime farmland and ensuring long-term prosperity for generations to come.

The Circleville Rotary Club meets weekly for lunch Thursdays at Noon at Watt Street Tavern, 115 Watt St., Circleville, OH 43113. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.

Meetings are open to Rotary members and their guests, and the organization regularly welcomes community leaders and speakers to discuss issues of local and regional importance.
