Jobs Ready Site/Thomson Facility Local officials and the new owner of the former Thomson Consumer Products factory site have a shared vision and financial partnership to redevelop the site into the Pickaway Progress Park, a 227-acre industrial/commercial park that has attracted state, local and private funding. This site has the potential for mixed-use development, industrial, retail, and residential.
Sofidel Sofidel is based in Porcari, Italy, just west of Florence in the Tuscany region. Founded nearly 50 years ago this tissue manufacturer is still privately held by families of the founders. Sofidel is recognized as the sixth largest manufacturer of tissue paper in the world, with operations in 13 countries.
Sofidel Group has chosen Pickaway County for their new plant. This project represents their first U.S. greenfield project. They are currently finalizing plans to build a 1.4 million-square-foot plant just south of Circleville as part of a multipronged expansion in North America.
Southern Gateway Economic Innovation Development Center This facility will be located on the campus of Ohio Christian University (OCU) and will have incubator space for startup businesses and entrepreneurs, focusing mostly on agricultural, technology and logistics businesses. Federal, state, and private funding has made this project a reality. Under construction now, plans are to have the facility up and running by 2017.
Health Care Logistics (HCL) Since 1978, HCL has been a health care industry leader specializing in manufacturing, packaging and distributing unique and hard-to-find products. At their headquarters, located in Circleville, Health Care Logistics has started work on a new 56,000 square foot warehouse project. The City of Circleville has partnered with HCL in this endeavor by providing a partial abatement of real property taxes for the new building. Approximately 50 new jobs will be created in Circleville as a result of this expansion project.
TriMold, LLC TriMold completed their 60,000 square foot plant expansion at their location on Pittsburgh Rd. where they manufacture resin-based products for automobiles. This expansion will improve production efficiency, safety and production capacity.
